Mihama sits on the Chatan coastline, a district where American Village, Sunset Beach, and Depot Island are all walkable from one another. From Naha Airport it is about 40 minutes by car via Route 58, or you can ride a limousine or local bus to Chatan and collect the car at the station once you are there. It suits resort stays where you only want a car during the day.

Central Okinawa’s main spots are close to Chatan: about 5 minutes to Araha Beach, 25 minutes to Cape Zanpa, and roughly an hour and a half to Churaumi Aquarium or Kouri Island via the expressway. Route 58 gets congested in the late afternoon, so leave early on days you head north. With beach gear and suitcases choose Midsize HV or larger; a Compact HV is enough for two.
