Makishi sits at the east end of Kokusai-dori, within walking distance of the First Makishi Public Market and the Heiwa-dori arcade. From Naha Airport the Yui Rail monorail reaches Makishi Station in about 15 minutes, and the station is a few minutes on foot from there, so you can start driving from central Naha without queuing at an airport counter. It suits itineraries that stay near Kokusai-dori and head south or central the next morning.
Expect roughly 15 minutes to Shuri Castle Park, 25 minutes to Senaga Island or the outlet mall, and 45 minutes to American Village in Chatan. Families with luggage should pick Midsize HV or larger; for city driving a Compact HV makes parking easier.
