    あまり前もっての予約は必要ないのですが、その場合には、自分の必要な車種が選べなかったりする様です。(例えば軽自動車やコンパクトカーが選べなかったりする)ので、結局は早めの予約が必要かもしれません。

    You don't really need to book far ahead, but then you may not get the car type you need (for example, kei cars or compact cars may be unavailable). So in the end, booking early might be necessary.
